KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Families staying at one of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, Missouriâs Longfellow House will soon enjoy a totally renovated living room thanks to Tamara Day.
As the host of Bargain Mansions on HGTV, Day renovates homes around Kansas City. She also runs a design firm based in Prairie Village, Kansas, called Growing Days Home.
The firm came up with the concept for the new living room which currently features plain white walls and hard wood furniture.

DENVER - Denverâs City Council will soon consider a proposal aimed at preserving businesses in the historic Berkeley-Regis neighborhood in Northwest Denver.
District 1 City Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval is proposing a rule that would require large new developments to set aside 75% of ground floor space closest to the street for retail shops, cafes, restaurants, and office space.
âWhen we updated the Denver zoning code in 2010, it created these mixed-use areas. The complexes up for renovation are Parkside and Mercury Court.
Phase One will replace 46 homes on the Parkside and Mercury Court properties. Phase Two will add 100 new homes to the latter property, according to the projectâs planners.
The MHAâs redevelopment proposal will closely resemble a previous plan the design team has used to update the units in Oakland Courts on North Maple Street. These plans were put into action in the spring of 2019, and redevelopment is still in progress.
McCarty Holsaple McCarty, a Knoxville-based architecture firm, is one of the design teams set to take on the project. The team has committed to the updates being made for Oakland Courts as well.
